Training a future generation at the National College for High Speed Rail

We are delighted to have secured another flagship project, this time working alongside Willmott Dixon to build a new college in Birmingham. The project in Birmingham and another in Doncaster will train the next generation of high speed rail engineers, helping to make the UK leaders in the world of rail infrastructure.

These colleges are highly specified and will contain workshops, classrooms, plus external teaching area containing railway tracks, masts and social space next to the canal.

We worked closely with Willmott Dixon at tender stage and were able to offer both budgetary and programming assistance that ultimately helped secure the project.

Work has now commenced on site with McDermotts undertaking all substructure works including foundations, pile caps, drainage and attenuating systems, services and external works including street furniture.
