Company Description

We are a groundworks and civil engineering company based in the Midlands, supporting the country’s biggest construction companies.

More recently the company has diversified its activities to include the following complimentary services, facilities management, interior solutions, reinforced concrete, landscaping and training and development.

We’re growing from being a business that’s the first to arrive on site – and the first to leave – to one that often stays on a project as both main and principal contractor, working for, and alongside, some of the country’s most trusted names in construction.

The trust we’ve built up has allowed us to grow beyond our traditional groundwork origins and offer our clients a top to bottom service, from the foundations to the ceilings and everything in between.

We’re growing fast and we’ve achieved this through considered investment in people, processes and plant.

Investment in our people to make sure they have the skills they need to exceed our customers’ expectations.  Focussed resources in terms of managing each project we undertake provides greater accountability and certainty of success.

Investment in new technology such as “Navision”, an integrated business management IT system which provides at-your-fingertips information on any project.

Investment in our processes resulting in us becoming the first Ground worker to have a fully Integrated Management System (IMS) covering Quality, Health, Safety and Environment.

Investment in our suppliers through bespoke supply chain development activities; thereby ensuring we get the very best materials at the best prices.

Investment in our customers, by way of “value engineering” through advising and working on a project at tender stage – supporting customers to secure work (and without commitment to ourselves).

Structure

We have an organisation structure that ensures we are responsive, adaptable, and expandable on our journey of growth.

Training & Development

Learning is a continuous process at our organisation and is reflected in our commitment to Investors in People.  Our approach includes:

  • Formal Qualifications: for example 100% of operatives have the appropriate CSCS cards. We also support the development of qualifications for specialist positions within the organisation (e.g. Quantity Surveying BSc,  Environmental Management MSc;  etc)
  • Action Learning:  our sustainable future includes strategic projects that involve cross functional teams that enables learning
  • Bite Sized Learning:  increasingly we are delivering and re-enforcing small chunks of information and knowledge. This includes toolbox talks, workshops, etc.
  • Classroom Training: this is particularly used for the external accredited and compliance related modules (e.g. Asbestos Awareness, Working at Height, etc).

We critically evaluate the effectiveness of training including the application of the knowledge and skills transfer to our working environment.
