Senior Engineer
At McDermotts, we’re hiring an Senior Engineer to join our dynamic team.
We are seeking a highly skilled Engineer and communicator to support the McDermotts function at the Head Office in Aston, Birmingham.
Main responsibilities:
- To provide engineering services to the projects as directed by the project manager
- Contribute as part of the production team to the performance and growth of the company
- Maintain effective relationships with the customers
- Ensure correct engineering procedures are adhered to
- Compile information and complete parts of the QA folder as required for the specific project, report any failings to the project manager and get all QA signed off by the customer
- Gather information for the production of as-built drawings
- Monitor and maintain the engineering equipment allocated
- Support the site team to maintain the projects on time, in budget and to the required quality
- Ensure all health and safety and environmental requirements are practised
- Ensure project reporting requirements are completed on time and accurately
Key responsibilities include:
- Manage the development of trainee engineers
- Undertake any other duties as required from time to time
- SHEQ legislation for construction industry
- Competent in use of EDM/Robotic equipment (leica)
- Technical knowledge of design drawings
- Basic AutoCad knowledge
- MS Office (word, excel, PowerPoint, outlook)
- Reinforced Concrete & Rebar experience
To be considered for the role you must have:
Education:
- GCSE or equivalent (preferred)
Experience:
- Competent in use of EDM/Robotic equipment (leica)
- Technical knowledge of design drawings
- AutoCad knowledge
- MS Office (word, excel, PowerPoint, outlook)
- Reinforced Concrete & Rebar experience
- CAD and modelling software to a very high standard
Job type: Full-time – Contract
Working hours: Monday to Friday 07:30 – 17:00
Site location: Birmingham & Travel to sites
