Keepmoat is building 387 high quality, energy efficient semi-detached and detached houses in the former mining village of Edlington, near Doncaster in Yorkshire. The scheme includes affordable housing and public open spaces. The scheme has been began in 2012 and is due for completion late in 2019.
Working as principal contractor, we were responsible for overseeing the demolition contractor and establishing the site compound for the main contractor. We worked closely with Doncaster Council and Severn Trent inspectors to re-utilise the existing highway and repair drains on the 374-plot development for Keepmoat Corporate.
The levels to the final 182 plots were re-designed, which lead to an increase in the earthworks midway through the project. By providing additional resources, we were able to accelerate works and maintain the current programme.
All groundworks are due for completion by March 2019 after which we will proceed with the final surfacing and replacement of the existing off road parking.
