Rugby Gateway is a 120-acre prime logistics site located at the heart of the distribution ‘golden triangle’, immediately adjacent to Junction 1 of the M6 motorway.

The foundations were excavated using a Trimble GPS 3D system which provides real-time information for monitoring avoidance zones and simultaneously collects as-built data as the machine cuts to grade.

With these capabilities, we were able to minimise waste and see precisely where earth was being moved on site. It also allowed us to keep a tighter control over safety as there was no need for a banksman to be near the machine or open excavation.
