The first major milestone was reached on Phase 2a of the Curzon at Birmingham City University last week when the first pieces of the steel frame were erected.
Michael Knight, Operations Manager at Willmott Dixon said, “McDermotts has worked tirelessly over the past eight weeks to form all foundations, pile caps and retaining walls within a very tight site footprint in order to be ready for our first steel delivery date. This was all without incurring any recordable accidents during this period. Well done to the whole team.”
John Moriarty, Production Director at McDermotts said, “Our site team worked extremely hard to achieve this very fast track programme which contained many sequencing obstacles. By working collaboratively with Willmott Dixon, we ensured that this milestone was achieved with zero accidents and zero defects to date.”
