Our commitment to people and communities remains a core value, and throughout 2025 we have proudly continued to support social value initiatives, charitable causes and community projects across the UK.
This year, we became the first business to achieve prison leaver engagement within the MOJ Alliance Project Scheme and recruited two new prisoner leavers. We look forward to continuing this journey by providing sustainable opportunities and long-term careers that support the reduction of re-offending. Alongside this, we remain committed to developing future talent through our apprenticeship programme. In 2025, we welcomed five new apprentices and were proud to see many former apprentices progress into new roles within the business.
We also continued to invest in health and safety initiatives, becoming the first corporate organisation in the UK to be certified as a ‘Defib Friendly Employer’. This milestone reinforces our ongoing commitment to the safety and wellbeing of our people and the wider community.
Our fundraising efforts continued throughout the year, and we are proud to have donated over £30,000 to support more than 60 charitable organisations and community initiatives located within the proximity of our Head Office and project sites. These charities reflect causes that matter most to us, including:
- People: foodbanks, community centres, homelessness support, domestic abuse, educational facilities and sports teams
- Environment: waterways and wildlife charities, as well as involvement in local environmental projects
- Health: mental health support, counselling services, child loss charities and medical research organisations
In addition, we organised foodbank collections across our construction sites, supported the Crisis at Christmas charity by providing Christmas lunches for people facing homelessness, and donated 400 Christmas selection boxes to local charities, including Birmingham Children’s Hospital Christmas Grotto. We also donated materials to play and learning spaces for children and contributed to two projects at Spencer’s Retreat Charity Farm, improving disabled access and facilities to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for all.
Throughout the year, we sponsored six local sports teams, donated 20 re-conditioned laptops to educational facilities such as the Salutem Apprentice Centre, and continued to volunteer our time to important causes, including the Mission Christmas campaign in support of Cash4Kids.
Together, these initiatives reflect our ongoing commitment to making a positive, lasting impact for our people, our communities and the future.
