Works are well underway at Bowmer & Kirkland’s Rugby Gateway project.
Rugby Gateway is a 120 acre prime logistics site located at the heart of the distribution ‘golden triangle’, immediately adjacent to Junction 1 of the M6 motorway.
To date we have completed all the foundations as well as the majority of the drainage and since starting on site eight weeks ago, we have installed 33,000m2 of yard slab.
The foundations were excavated using a Trimble GPS 3d system. The system provides real-time information for monitoring avoidance zones and simultaneously collects as-built data as the machine cuts to grade. With these capabilities, operators can minimise waste and see precisely where dirt is being moved on site. They can also keep tighter control over safety as there is no need for a banksman to be near the machine or open excavation.
