McDermotts raises £50,000 for charity to celebrate 25 years in business!
After a year of fundraising throughout the business for our 25th anniversary, we managed to raise enough money to be able to give both of our chosen charities, Ronald McDonald House and SIFA Fireside, £25,000 each.
Employees of McDermotts arranged multiple fundraising events throughout the year including a charity football match, a sponsored challenge on the world’s fasted zip wire and three team members even flew to Peru to take on the colossal 5-day Monkey Run.
Katie West, Corporate Fundraiser at Ronald McDonald House Charities said, “We would like to congratulate McDermotts on their 25 years in business, and thank everybody at the company for raising an incredible amount of money. As a result of their fundraising efforts, 1,000 nights’ accommodation will be possible to keep many families close together in hospital during a difficult time”.
Eppie Snell, Fundraiser Assistant at SIFA Fireside said, “We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to McDermotts for their support and their incredible donation. It costs over one million pounds to run our day centre and this donation will help us to continue opening our doors to over 160 of Birmingham’s most marginalized and vulnerable people”.
Malcolm McDermott said of the fundraising efforts of his team, “It has been a phenomenal year for charity fundraising and I’m delighted that in our 25th year we have pulled together to raise £25,000 for Ronald McDonald House and £25,000 for SIFA Fireside, two charities that do incredible work for our local community. I want to thank everyone who took part in or donated to any of our charity events and initiatives and for keeping the charitable spirit of McDermotts alive!”
We were delighted to present each of the charities with their cheques at our 25th Anniversary Celebration Evening at the Belfry earlier in the month.
