McDermotts retains certifications

We are delighted to report that we have retained certifications to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and ISO 50001 from NQA for our integrated management system.

We have also successfully retained our accreditation to Achilles Building Confidence. Achilles Building Confidence is a construction industry accreditation and registration standard in the UK providing certification to Safety Schemes in Procurement and the Common Assessment Standard.

And finally we are proud to have been awarded 4 stars out of 5 from the Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS) against their Code of Practice. The CCS is a national scheme designed to raise standards across all major construction sites.

A monitor from Considerate Constructors assessed head office and two of our sites against five key areas:

  1. Care about appearance
  2. Respect the community
  3. Protect the environment
  4. Secure everyone’s safety
  5. Value the workforce

Scoring highly across all five areas, we were particularly praised for the introduction of health and safety bulletins and reminders sent to mobile phones, excellent safety awareness and respect for the communities in which we work. They also highlighted our strong programme of training for health and safety.

Joe McDermott, SHEQ Director said, “We are pleased to retain these certifications which reflect our commitment to continuous improvement. A massive thank you goes out to all our teams who make sure we maintain the highest standards expected by our customers every day.”
