Five new apprentices join the McDermotts team

As part of our ongoing commitment to developing the next generation of construction talent and in showcasing construction as a viable career path, we are proud to have created five new apprenticeship opportunities. This month we have welcomed Benjamin, Charlie, Jakub, Louie and Owen to our team, who are undertaking a Level 2 Apprenticeship in Groundworks.

Since joining McDermotts at the start of September, our apprentices have already achieved certifications in: Construction Safety Awareness, Location Avoidance, Vehicle Banksman, Hand Arm Vibration, Manual Handling, Red Zone Training, Working at Height, Abrasive Wheels, Asbestos Awareness, Fire Awareness in Construction, Manual handling and the Use of Petrol Cut Off Saws. Alongside this, they have all successfully attained their red apprenticeship CSCS card.

The structured programme gives our apprentices valuable site experience alongside their college learning, enabling them to build a portfolio of work that showcases their growing knowledge and skills while working towards industry-recognised qualifications. Paired with a mentor, they are able to learn directly from experienced colleagues on live projects, gaining hands-on experience every step of the way.

We’re proud to be part of the journey as our apprentices grow, learn, and develop into the next generation of talent within the industry and we look forward to celebrating their progress.
