As part of our ongoing commitment to developing the next generation of construction talent and showcasing construction as a viable career path, we are proud to have created nine new apprenticeship opportunities this year.

This month, we have welcomed Brandan, Daniel, Daniel, Dylan, Freddie, Kemmar, Lucas, Michael and Mitchell to the McDermotts team. Each apprentice is beginning their Level 2 Apprenticeship in Groundworks, combining practical, hands-on experience on live construction projects with college-based learning and industry training.

From the outset, our apprentices are supported in developing the knowledge, skills and qualifications they need to build a successful career in construction. Their training includes essential health, safety and construction awareness, alongside practical skills that will support them throughout their apprenticeship and beyond.

The structured programme provides valuable experience on site, allowing our apprentices to put their learning into practice while building a portfolio that demonstrates their developing skills and knowledge. Each apprentice is also paired with experienced colleagues who can provide guidance, support and mentoring throughout their journey with McDermotts.

With nine new apprentices joining the business this year, we’re continuing to invest in the next generation of construction talent. We look forward to supporting each of our apprentices as they grow in confidence, develop their skills and take the next steps towards a successful career in groundworks.
