At McDermotts we aim to promote careers in the construction industry, through an inclusive approach by targeting different age groups and regions. We are recognised for collaborating with clients or Principal Contractors to deliver on-site activities and by partnering with local nurseries, schools and colleges.

Over the past few weeks we have engaged with and welcomed to our sites two local educational groups, inclusive of a local nursery, as we aspire to encourage early engagement and understanding of the construction industry.

In Derby, we welcomed a local primary school to site and assisted Bowmer & Kirkland with the burial of a time capsule.

In Stoke-on-Trent, we partnered with Willmott Dixon to welcome a local nursery to explore our excavator on site and Q&As, whilst the children looked the part in hard hats and hi-vis vests.

These are just two recent examples of our community and educational engagement, in our advancement to encouraging the next generation within the construction industry, by showcasing to students of all ages the variety of careers we can offer.
