Topping out at Poppyfield Primary Academy

Topping out at Poppyfield Primary Academy

Earlier this month the project team working on the new Poppyfield Primary Academy reached a key milestone in the project, holding a ‘topping out’ ceremony to mark the occasion.

Poppyfield Academy is a new, 210-place primary free school in Cannock. It is due to open in September 2019 for nursery and reception, with one class per year group. The new school will grow year on year, reaching full capacity for 210 full time pupils and 26 nursery children by 2025.

Poppyfield Academy is part of the Victoria Academies Trust family of schools, an established multi-academy trust with nine schools across the West Midlands. The Academy will offer an innovative and engaging curriculum that meets the needs of local children and is based around the NICER curriculum, which is used in many of the Trust schools, where performance in reading, writing and maths is well above the national and regional average.
