Every year we choose some good causes to support and throughout 2020, it was Papyrus and Tommy’s. Due to the pandemic and not being able to do any of our usual planned fundraising, we have chosen to continue supporting these two charities for another year.
Tommy’s is an organisation of caring and committed people who refuse to accept that losing a baby in pregnancy is ‘just one of those things’. Right now, 1 in 4 pregnancies will end in miscarriage, stillbirth or premature birth. Across the UK, their dedicated researchers, doctors, nurses and midwives are finding causes and treatments to save lives. They also provide free trusted information and support for everyone before, during and after pregnancy. Together, they’re working hard to break the silence around loss, support each other and prevent future heartbreak.

Papyrus is dedicated to the prevention of young suicide. Suicide is the biggest killer of young people – male and female – under 35 in the UK. Every year many thousands more attempt or contemplate suicide, harm themselves or suffer alone, afraid to speak openly about how they are feeling.
