Apprenticeships

Apprenticeships offer the chance to learn skills while gaining practical experience in a working environment. As well as training at our purpose built academy and joining one of our teams on site, apprentices have the option to undertake industry recognised qualifications. Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, there are opportunities available to progress and specialise.

Apprentices complete an 18-month structured programme:

• 1 day Health & Safety Awareness certificate (CITB accredited)
• Block release at the Salutem Apprentice Centre in Aston
• A nationally recognised apprenticeship qualification that leads to a CSCS Blue Skilled Worker – Groundworker Card
• Specialist training including CPCS Blue Competent Operator – Dumper and Roller

You will also receive the following opportunities:
• Onsite liaison between the Tutor and McDermotts Project Manager to ensure opportunities for gaining appropriate experience
• Active support from a nominated Mentor
• Learn from experienced groundworks operatives
• Gain accredited qualifications while earning at the same time
• Expenses to travel to the Salutem Training Centre
• Enhanced hourly rates that increase throughout the Apprenticeship
