West Midlands Mayor Meets McDermotts Apprentices

We recently invited Andy Street, Mayor of the West Midlands, to meet with some of our apprentices on site at West Coventry Academy.

This week we welcomed representatives from Papyrus and Tommy’s to present a combined donation of £40,000 to these amazing charities.

This week we celebrated the graduation of McDermotts apprentices Lewis and Tyler, which marked the completion of their Level 2 Groundworks apprenticeship.

Earlier this month we held a refresher Thumbs Up safety training session on site at West Coventry Academy.

We’ll be working with branches of The Trussell Trust close to our head office and some of our sites, supporting them through fundraising and food donations.

We are delighted to retain certifications to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001 and Achilles Building Confidence as well as warded 4 stars out of 5 from the Considerate Constructors Scheme.

We say a huge welcome to the eight new apprentices that have joined our team this month, undertaking a Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard in Groundworks.

We are delighted to have become one of a small number of contractors in the country to achieve certification to the National Highways Sector Scheme 30.

Several of our site teams have received awards recently from our customers in recognition of their efforts and safe working practices on site.
